Booking an appointment at a beauty salon is like a lottery - you don’t know what service or result to expect. Potential clients often want to research before spending money, and so usually end up reading countless reviews on various websites.

The problem still remains - reviews do not reflect the style and quality; while a picture is worth a thousand words.

Solution

We created an app that combines a picture-based social platform and salon booking system. BeautySpotter. allows customers to “look before they book”. For user convenience, it is equipped with a map to locate salons nearby.

BeautySpotter. is a multisided platform. Clients can browse and upload “looks” and book appointments. Stylists can gain followers and build reputation, and salons can manage their profile and accept bookings.

Impact

With the BeautySpotter. app stylists are now able to promote their services just by their happy clients sharing their “looks”, while salons finally get their very own beauty social network.

BeautySpotter. was launched in 2014 and has been warmly welcomed by the industry, public and press alike - spotted by the Telegraph beauty pages, amongst others.
